Addie Smith
Founder, Studio Adelia
Addie Smith is the founder of Studio Adelia, a Denver-based boutique architectural lighting design studio using the power of light to transform life. With a mission driven by a passion for beauty, human connection, and place-making, Addie paints with light to enliven the built environment with drama – inspiring people to do, feel, and be better. Going beyond the art and technique of illumination, she strives to understand unique human needs and translate them into beautiful experiences. With over 15 years of experience working on private residences, hospitality, luxury retail, civic, education, and commercial mixed-use projects in towns and cities across the country, Addie brings visual intuition, architectural rigor, creative presence, and positive momentum to every project and team.
Addie is a Certified Lighting Designer (CLD), holds a Bachelor of Fine Art in Interior Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and has a Certificate in Design Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.  She is a member of the Rocky Mountain chapter of the International Association of Lighting Design (IALD), Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), and past chapter president of Women in Lighting Design (WILD). She serves as an advisory member of the Hospitality and Residential technical committees for the IES, and volunteers as an mentor and guest reviewer for Colorado State University – Fort Collins’ Interior Architecture and CU Boulder’s Architectural Engineering undergraduate programs. Addie is pleased to join ÑÇɫӰ¿â to share her passion for light and lighting education with the public. She believes everyone deserves good lighting, and that good lighting is the gateway to good living at any budget.
